$1k is way too much. And HID fogs are worthless.
Contrary to popular belief, there is a such thing as 'too much light', even from a drivers perspective. High levels of foreground light give the illusion, the subjective impression, of comfort and security and "good lighting". This is one of the same reasons that OEM manufacturers never use HID foglights (poor CRI of HID bulbs being the other main reason).
In clear conditions, more foreground light is not a good thing, it's a bad thing. Some foreground light is necessary so you can use your peripheral vision to see where you are relative to the road edges, the lane markings etc. But foreground light is far less safety-critical than light cast well down the road into the distance, because at any significant speed (much above 30 mph), what's in the foreground is too close for you to do much about. If you increase the foreground light, your pupils react to the bright, wide pool of light by constricting, which in turn substantially reduces your distance vision—especially since there's no increase in down-the-road distance light to go along with the increased foreground light.
US-DOT headlamps have arguably inadequate levels of light in the foreground and to the sides. Many US DOT headlamps have what seems to be a "black hole" in front of the car, with essentially the entire beam concentrated in a narrow band or ball of light thrown into the distance. This problem gets overcorrected many times by an abundant HID light source and we have all this extra light to work with. Where are you going to put the extra light? You can put some of it into the "hot spot" to improve distance vision, but you can't put too much of it there, because you'll glare other drivers (and exceed regulated maximum intensities). You can spread some of it around in the rest of the beam, but there are often even stricter maxima outside of the hot spot or zone, and too much "generalized" light causes veiling glare and backdazzle in bad weather. So they put a lot of it in the foreground. But over a certain level, which is quite easy to exceed with an HID headlamp, undesireable things start to happen. You sacrifice distance vision, you get high levels of reflected-light glare on wet roads, that sort of thing.

i would NEVER IN MY LIFE get HID headlights. I think there the most dangerous and annoying thing on the road. Who on here has had experiences like mine in which a car behind you(usually an SUV) has HID lights that hit your side view mirror and you cant see anything at night. Very dangerous and very annoying.
HID foglights I think are awesome. Its a sick look for your car and the light dosent penetrate anyones vision.
Id love to share a pic of my 1993 Civic Hatchback(RIP) with my HID fogs(3k)with my high beams on

Shipping is included in the price. Kit details are as follows: Features: 1. Strong and rapid startup 2. High brightness: can reach 3,600LM 3. Steady brightness 4. Good performance with high and low temperature resistance
Parameters: 1) Input voltage rage: DC 8-18V 2) Rated voltage: 13.5V 3) Max. start voltage: 23kV 4) Input current: 3.1A+/- 5% 5) Output power: 35W+/-2W 6) Luminosity: 3,600 lumens 7) Working temperature: -40 ~ +105°C 8) Color temperature: 4,300K - 12,000K or above 9) Life-span: 3,000 hours 10) Startup time: can reach 20% of the standard brightness within 1 second; can reach 80% of the standard brightness within 4 seconds 11) Auto cut-off: once there is a short circuit or open circuit, the ballast will stop working automatically 12) Protection voltage: when the voltage exceed 19V, the ballast will stop working automatically, and make the output power below 45W, to protect the ballast and bulb from damage. When the voltage is 8V, the ballast still can work normally, but when the voltage is below 7V, the ballast will stop working to protect the ballast from damage 13) Reverse polarity protection: the ballast will stop working automatically when a reverse polarity happens 14) Radiation: Relative value: less than -70dB Absolute value: less than 20mW for standard wireless interference Relative value: less than -90dB Absolute value: less than 5mW for our product
You can either pick up it locally, I am located in suffolk, or have it shipped next day via DHL at no charge in the tri-state area. I accept Google checkout, and cash in person. To pay by Google Checkout please PM me your email addess and your order and I will email you an invoice.

Search Honda-tech for that. I know the S2k has one of the best hid setups in any production car. The ONLY thing I dont much care for is that they're not bi-xenon. Which means the high beam is not HID.

I know a few people with S2000 projectors retrofitted into their headlights. I'd just go with the TSX projectors due to similar output and lower price.
