For the people who have HID Kits/ Retrofits in your cars. Lets try and make this into a center of HID info. I know there are numerous people on here who have Kits, and others who have gone the retrofit route. If you wouldnt mind, post pics of your lights, and a cutoff. I know there are other threads, but if we can consolidate all of those into one, thatd help clean things up a bit. Also, give any information. Where you got it, what projectors youre using, how much it cost you, how hard install was, etc.
Lets see em! -Matt

Here is my setup. These are old pics from fall and have since then made some changes, so I will post up some new ones after I fix them here shortly. I blew an ignitor.
Anywho, my setup is as follows:
2005 Acura TL Bi-xenon projectors, lightly modded to get more color at cutoff and more foreground light. Matsushita GEN 1 Ballasts and Ignitors from an Infiniti RX330 Various wiring, connectors, and relays for custom harness
The shroud/bezel of each projector is made from PVC and raw aluminum. And NO, those are NOT angel eyes around each projector. That is the chrome ring that holds the projector lens to the body of each projector.
Well, these are the pics for now, I will add some others including pics of the build itself later on.

hey there! will it help if you tilt the stock headlight down a bit? in order not to blind any oncoming traffic with the glare from the HID. or maybe change the bulb to 4000k? just so it's not as harsh.
You can aim them down, but they'll still get glare. So no, that wont help. And 4000k is brighter than 6000k or 8000k, so that wouldnt do much either. If you want HID's, do it the *right* way and retrofit
Agreed. If you look at Civic4drnw pictures of the cutoff line, and see that they are practically straight across, thats what you want. And you can only get that, for our cars, through retrofitting. There is no plug and play kit, no amount of headlight tweaking, etc, that will get your cutoff line to look like that.

I guess I'll play.
1st retro I did:
Setup:
2x OEM 96-98 Honda Civic Headlights
2x OEM Honda S2000 Projectors
2x OEM Audi A4 Bezels
2x OEM Nissan/Matsushita Ballasts
2x OEM Phillips 85122 4100k/4300k D2S bulbs
1x Custom wiring harness
Part list + Labor =
Output:
I know there's some glare, but very little, and it's all from the overwhelming amount of "CHROME" everywhere in my headlights.
Sold that entire retro, couldn't stay away from HID's (cause im such a HIDwhore) I bought this retro from a friend (98civic on this forum) Ripped it apart and redid the housings and bezels, bought new ballasts and bulbs and viola.
2nd retro:
Setup:
2x OEM 96-98 Honda Civic Headlights (Painted gunmetal)
2x OEM Audi RS6 Bi-Xenon Projectors
2x OEM Audi/BMW HELLA GEN3 ballasts
2x OEM Phillips 85122 4100k/4300k D2S bulbs
1x Custom wiring harness
No output shots yet just these 2 pictures
Not as bright as the s2000 projectors, but the high beam is AWESOME haha. Sitting and waiting for a new set of projectors to start my 3rd retrofit , and hopefully it'll be my last.

Nice retrofits.
I'm doing a projector retrofit in a little bit, got my Audi projectors, need some other parts.
However, I had a set of HIDs from an Acura TL and I did a quick rebased to fit my Accord with 9004 headlights. I've sold the car and kept the HIDs. How much different is our 9003 vs the 9004 base? I was wondering if I had to redo it completely or just modify it a little bit.

I don't care about hi-beams, i just want a single beam. thanks any help given!

The output of these retrofits looks great, but frankly the lights themselves look a little too hacked up for my taste.
Call me a ricer, but rather than cutting the back off the OEM lights, what are everyone's thoughts on starting with a set of ebay projector lights, then doing something like a TSX projector swap into those housings (since their lights undoubtedly suck). I was "browsing" out on ebay and honestly these things don't look that bad, although I wish they didn't all insist on using angel eyes. Again, I'm talking about retrofitting into these housings. Nice or rice?

I plan to get some yellow HIDs for the fogs, would there be any modifications or is it just plug and play?
