i personally dig the type r.
Super awesome.
the new si (coupe) is very nice too.
The death of the k series is sad though - the FG civic is the corner stone of an era.

And golf r is "awd" with open diffs vs trick diff in a 2wd car. The CTR is the true performance automobile here. Though golf r is the better street car to live with--and 99% what people want anyways

Yes the big fake plastic mesh grills could have been done better, but most cars seems to have them.
If I had 40 plus k to buy a new car, it would be on the top of my list. BUUUUT I would never pay over sticker for one

I think it's a pretty amazing car in many way, it sounds like they've managed to keep the power under control for fwd. I would still give major kudos to Honda for making the effort. But just like Hatorade, I can't get past the looks. Too over the top, a little too much Erebuni/Shogun going on.

and the CTR will actually last past 150k km's :P and not over heat diffs

trick diff, trick shocks. there isn't anything wrong with 2wd.
it's the question of...do you want more refinement aka golf r, or a real sport focused car aka ctr. on the circuit, this thing is going to rape all the things.
and it's not like there is a good value proposition for any halo car.

also the way the susp adjust in unison with the diff to control any understeer and trq steer is unreal apparently (if you track it).

Okokok I like the car, but there is no special sauce noted in that article. That front end design (suspension) is not new, using brakes to help the car steer is something the focus st already does, and a helical diff is something an si has. Not to mention, every modern euro car pretty much has a flat underbelly and even aero fairings for the control arms...and some even go so far as to shape the muffler so that it is integrated into the diffuser (see frs). Soooo it's a nice car, but that car throttle site just listed a bunch of plebeian stuff :(. Is there anything better that shows the tech side of it all XD
