yeah i only keep like 10% of what I shoot generally. Some of that is because of out of focus, misfocused, or exposure related issues. Others it's poor composition, sometimes it's just not as cool as it looked in person. That's events related shooting.
I haven't really shot anything recently. That's bad. I'm going out to El Mirage this weekend but don't have anything planned other than event coverage, which I don't really want to be doing as much of like I've said, so again, that's bad. Will see a few guys I know on Saturday and will see if they're interested in doing something that night or Sunday morning maybe.

I went on a tour of four of the Texas Painted Churches. In this particular Church, all I used was my NEX-5R, 16mm F2.8 and the Sony Fisheye converter.
These Churches are AMAZING. The four I saw were from the 1800's to the early 1900's. They look like regular country Churches from outside, but then on the inside they are very extravagant. But it is mostly faux. The ceiling wood work on the Church in the below picture, is actually all paint! The columns are wood and are painted to look like marble. However, the windows in this one are Tiffany, they are the most extravagant thing about the Church.

If anyone is interested, here is a little info about them and a link to a Map of them...

Kevin, yup.. upgraded from the f4 to the f4 IS about a month or so ago. I haven't even done a MFA adjustment on it yet, lol. It's pretty awesome I gotta admit. That's a 100% crop.

Yeah I remember you upgraded. Can you bring the level up in his eye some? I can see a tad bit of brown in it but with a tiny amount of adjustment just in the eye would help it some, IMO.

Straight out of the camera (just a resize, obviously)
Loving the 17-35...just need to figure out if it is my hood or what that is causing the vertical vignette when I have highlights or if it is light drop off on the rear element.
Then I gave it a little touching up and a slight crop in from the right:

Fooling around with my new macro. Ended up with the Sigma 105, I picked up the Tamron 90 VC as well but the sharpness was just a hair better on the Sigma and color balance was remarkably warmer and more pleasant. I was fully expecting to keep the Tamron based on the price ($100 less) and the slightly smaller and lighter dimensions, but the difference in weight felt pretty negligible in the hand (175g doesn't feel like all that much, I guess) and it wasn't smaller enough to make any real difference in the bag. I'd be shocked if the 100L IS were any better than this Sigma though, I have to say it is tack fucking sharp, needed no AF adjustment, and the OS works quite well, I've hand held it at 1/10 with good results. Plus it's $400 cheaper.
I have no idea what I'm doing different in terms of holding the camera steady, but I've noticed my keeper rate on the 35 IS with the IS enabled is getting better too. 24-70 still is worse with it on though, that one may have been buggered from the start.
Picked up the 24 IS also, testing it against the 16-28 and 24-70 shows it's better enough in the corners to warrant keeping it. Both zooms were as good (if not just a hair better) in the center, which was unexpected. Distortion is a bit less than either zoom and is more easily corrected. CA's are a bit more than I'd expect, but pretty easy to correct in PS.
Lots of new gear for the trip to Iceland and Norway, we'll see how it goes. I'm afraid I'm going to get sick of lugging it all and wish I'd gotten an XT1 and 3-4 primes instead, but I didn't want to make that kind of a leap before such a big trip.

Awesome man, I grew up in St.Catharines about 15mins from there. I hope you took a drive down River rd from Niagara on the Lake to Fort Erie! Some great views!

I'll have to check that out next time! We checked out the falls, went to the bird exhibition, and spent a day at the butterfly conservatory and botanical gardens. We we're only up for the weekend, but enjoyed ourselves so a return trip may be on the menu.

I was going to suggest the butterfly conservatory Great place, I'm sure you got some killer shots there as well. If you went there, you were definitely on River rd. You can take that all the way to Lake Ontario and all the way back to Fort Erie.

Editing them this week hopefully. 2nd shot my first wedding a few weeks back so I have to finish them up first! But the butterfly conservatory was awesome! Shame it was so cloudy the whole time we were there, the gardens would have been much prettier.
I pre-ordered the 16-35 f/4, so when that comes in I'll probably be back up to re-shoot the falls.
