Best way to run wires into the doors?

Hey guys, just wondering what would be the best and easiest way to run wires into the doors of a '00 SI. I did it once before and it was a bitch to say the least. There aren't any actual wires that go from the car into the door, just a plug thing. I need to run some wires from inside the car for my remote window modules for my Viper alarm. Any help would be great!
Thanks

You can get whats called a "claw" from sears its about 5-10$ and you pull the gromets out and you can stick the claw in one side and since the gromets are rubber you can guide the claw through and when it gets to the other side open the claw and put the wires in close it push the tabs away from each other to get a good grip and just pull through i tried feeding just wires through one time wasn't happening. With the claw took me about 3 minutes. Good luck.

Yeh my bad i just went downstairs and looked at my car. Remember what i told you earlier and keep that in mind. If your looking for a professional install which you probably are then your going to have to take the fenders off which shouldnt be that hard. After you take the fenders off you will see the rubber boots/gromets going from the door to the car. Right now if you feel back in your door jamb you can feel the boots. Once you pull the gromets away from the car its going to be easy from there just do what i told you to do earlier and its actually easier to get to the gromets and run the wires then it is on most cars where you have to actually work in the door jambs

Man i had a hell of hard time getting wires to the door. I couldnt do it. So.. i had to run it in the door jam. Aint that bitch? yeah, im pissed. There's still hope, so im gonna re-run it when i have the time. I used some wire loom.. it KINDA looks stock. Hey it works for me for now. It kinda pisses me off though.
So, please explain WHERE to run the wires. From under the glove compartment i found a side hole, was a bitch to get a wire through but did. The rubber covering for all the wires going into door is a no go. There is NO SPACE in that hole to add wires. Damn i really want to use factory wiring. Check out my other post "My wiring a waste of time"

When I attempted to run wires through the door of my 00 Si for window control, I found the easiest way to do it was take take the door off completely. Its been awhile, I cant remember, but I think the wires are connected to the doors with a plug and I ran the wires through the grommet and behind the plug and you could never tell it was there.
the only problem was that I could never get the door back on straight. It always kinda saggeed when you opened and close it. Good luck though.

once you take the fender off and pull the gromet out and the panels under the glove box are off here is where the claw and a light is your best friend. You lay a light in the floor board facing where your working then you go outside the car look thorugh the gromet hole for the light when you see the light you can just stick the claw in that direction and go inside the car and look and im sure you will be able to find the claw if you can see light from outside the car. Sometimes you may need 2 people for the claw though.

You cannot use a claw or any other device like that on an '00 because there is a molex plug in the door. You will need to carefully drill a hole in each side of the molex plug to get your wires into the door through the stock loom.

The claw is about 2 1/2 feet long and can bend in any direction and has two tabs on one end push them towards each other the claw at the opposite end will open push them away from each other and the claw with close tightly on the wires your trying to pull through a hole such as a gromet hole or through a dash. Here I will tell you how to get wires into the door without having to run it in wire loom. First disassemble the work area: take the glove box off take the passenger kick panel out and take the door panel and the fenders off. Unplug the Molex Plug and pull the gromet out that is going into the car. Once you have all this done you can lay a light on the floor of the car facing in the direction of the gromet hole go to the outside the car and look through the hole to see the light and when you see the light you can put the claw in towards the lighted area. Open the claw and insert the wires that you need to run outside the car and then close the claw and pull the wires through. Since it goes into a plug you can either run the wires in the rubber boot and then have them come out in the end or you can tape them with electrical tape to the actual rubber boot. Then like georgelb stated CAREFULLY drill a hole by the Molex Plug but look inside the door or feel just to make sure where the wires are because if you drill through wires then dont expect the windows or door locks to work. Once the hole are drilled feed them through and then you can reassemble the car and finish what you need to do in the door area.........Any questions??

I didn't completely disconnect the wires from the car. Just unplugged the Molex plug and then popped the plug out of the door and pulled it down through the speaker cutout so I could get to it good, then very very slowly used a dremel, a drill, and various other things to make a hole in each side of the plug. It was harder on the driver side because there are more wires going into the door, thus less room to make a hole without hitting a wire.
I posted these in another thread ages ago, but I will post them again so you can get an idea how I did it.

I dont think thats the crossover. I believe its actually something from Honda put there. Look at the harness going into the side of it.

the reason i said he has crossovers in his car was because i see 2 sets of wires going into the door meaning crossover is inside. the part your reffering to is the keyless entry module

i just drilled a small hole (just big enough to run the wire through) right next to the plug in the door, put a rubber gromet in the hole (so the metal doesnt cut the wires) then i ran the wire right through the stock rubber tubing all the way up to the hole, then cut a hole in the rubber tubing and ran it into the hole i drilled. i didnt have to take the fender off, the door off, or nothing. it was easy, and you cant even tell that i did it. thats just another option. -ryan
