Yeah, he's doing well with the manual lenses. Wish I could have had the sense to start off that way instead of going straight for $1000 kit lenses and redundant camera bodies.

Thanks for the compliments. Best thing I did was get into legacy manual lenses. It really makes me take my time whenever I take a pic...and forced me to play around with aperture/shutter speed/ISO settings every time. I still have a long way to go and lot to learn...but by doing almost everything manually, I think it really sped up the learning curve.

Using manual mode was how I learned on the Pentax I used to own. Then I got the NEX-3 and really enjoyed putting old school lenses on it and learning from them. Sony did it right when they put an APS-C sensor combined with a super short sensor to flange distance. There is supposedly a Full Frame NEX camera coming out sometime soon. I doubt I'd buy one, but that will be a nice addition to the line up.

I've been tempted to buy the LA-EA2 adapter for Alpha mount to NEX. I've been paying attention to the prices. This stupid thing was 400 dollars just a few months back. But has been dropping in price...

Wow the price is really dropping on that adapter. I almost bought it when I bought my 5R b/c i wanted to have all the accessories that I may need.

Yeah, that is a much more realistic price for it in my opinion. knowing Amazon though. It is going to go back up to $399.99 eventually. Amazon prices really fluctuate A LOT.

I rarely ever use my NEX-3 any more. I just shoot with the A65 and leave the NEX in the car all the time.

picked up the 400mm 5.6.. tried to go shoot Eagles but that was a complete failure. so this is all ive got so far
