this one was a tough one because i timed it all wrong and by the time i got there the sun had already set behind the arch making for some very bad light. this is def a sunrise arch. oh well, i'll get it better next time.  Landscape Arch by Alter Your Perspective, on Flickr

Couple things I would suggest for next time.
1. Lower, and wider. Trucks and SUVs will always look better from a lower perspective, especially in an off-road setting. And because the setting is pretty cool, show us more of it. The vehicle doesn't need to occupy 75% of the frame.
2. Watch the tires and edges of your frame... Cutting off the tire is a huge no-no. Don't do it again. 
3. Buy yourself a circular polarizing filter to help cut down on glare and reflections.
This shot is much improved from what you've been putting out, so nice job! Keep at it!

For the filter, start with something cheap like this if you don't want to spend a lot.

I don't WANT to tell you to get the cheapest one you can find, because there are obvious benefits from a higher quality coated filter, but for a starting point, you literally can't beat a $25 filter. Plus if it breaks or gets all fucked up you won't be out too much.

thanks Nate. there's another trip scheduled for the 8th. my shift linkage was messed up on my jeep so 4LO wasn't working. I had to skinny pedal it in 4HI just to get up into the area (first hill was a bitch

Yeah, use the wider view of that location as story telling. The exposure with the snow is actually pretty good. It's not underexposed.
It's tough to get people to do stuff sometimes, as you're just shooting what's happening, but the position of that jeep makes it look like he's flooring it around the corner. It'd be rad if he stabbed the throttle and you caught the roost, maybe a slow the shutter speed down and pan with him as he's moving.
Sweet looking rig! Wide as shit I bet but I was always a sucker for the boatsides and the cut rear wheel wells. Nice inner fenders up from too, have to be nice in that snow

I was thinking that as I submitted the post. Nate LOVES it in Venice, but I see a mega shithole that smells like piss. I can't STAND LA county. If I moved to the PNW I have a feeling I'd love it, but a lot of peeps would be jaded and be ready for something new. The grass is always greener right? I'd like to live with Salty too. I need to find a place that's not humid, cooler is better as I can always bundle up, good access to the outdoors with camping/hiking. Bicycle and moto friendly is important too. Can't have the community hate me and shut me out of enjoying the area. I don't have a lot to offer the communities, but I'll take proposals

Focus is a little too far forward making the eyes feel soft. Get the eyes as the focal point and it would be better.
