I have a 2000 Civic SI and my only power upgrades are an AEM cold air intake and a Greddy Evo cat-back exhaust. My fastest 1/4 mile time was a 15.24 and i forgot how many mph. Does this sound about right for my car or can i improve alot because im still trying to get a gauge on this thing.

well that sounds pretty quick, but unusually fast with just intake and catback. Track timing system sounds a bit off. I remember when i had about the same mods and was only getting 15.6s or so.about 88mph. Them were the slow days.

Give me a time estimate with this mild setup.

AEM V2
Weapon R Header
Custom 2.25 exhaust with "high flow" cat.

AGX/Ground Control suspension
15" OZ Superleggera w/regular Michelins

14s huh. . . hmm. that is encouraging, tryin to get some drag radials before I head to the track again (month end). I'll be sure to get the numbers up as soon as I can run, cause now if I rev above 4000 rpm, i have no traction at all.

Did 15.22 @90mph, could have done better but didn't want to pressure the car, seeing it was her first time on the track.

I used to race there. I used to live in Jupiter for a while then I moved to Ocala. moroso is an alright track. The one in gainesville is a whole lot better tho. with just header and intake a ran 15.1.

What would be a guess with AEM CAI, Skunk2 Cat back, DC 4-2-1, Fidanza 7lb flywheel, exedy clutch

I say about 15.5, witout header and high flow cat, the catback is more or less useless.

I would recommend a 4-1 header setup since you are drag racing and you want all the top end power you can get.

Dont get a flywheel!! Its too light-your will be slower than all hell!! With the correct driver/launch you can get your Si to 14.70 with CAI and header!! That is with stock tires!!

I thought that flywheels were supose to held with the use of your power

They work well for fully built engines that are primarly used at the track!! A flywheel that is a little lighter will help on a mild street driven car-but if its too light on street car with than its just wasting power. Racing motors used have narrow power bands depending on application because they have one job.

dude, it depends on how big the turbo is and how much boost. It depends on what your doing with the car-daily driving or a race car!! It also depends on where you want the power band!! You also lose alot of torque and engine momentum from light ass flywheels. Just do alot of research before buying anything for your setup!!

I would love to see an Si with just CAI and header do 14.70s. Unless the driver is really light and the car gutted to just whats necessary. But I don't see it happening today.

I dont either. but maybe if it was brand new, the driver was a pro, it was real cold out, and was completly gutted, then just maybe

durtySi,
I got a 15.3xx with just a CAI on and my stock rims w/ Bridgestone RE-750's. That was back in 2002, so adding an exhaust might drop a few, sounds about right to me.

Last Year with

Aem Cai
Tanabe Exhaust
Aem Light Pulley
Short Shifter

I ran a 15.1 best time at 87 mph

With the addition of

DC Sports Headers
Exedy clutch with a 12lb ACT flywheel
Light Crank Pulley
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
NGK Iridium Platinum
Test Pipe

Now i'm running 15.8 consistently at 90 mph WTF!! :-(

I spoke to some people they said you need some better tires.

I dynoed at 154.86 to the wheels at 111lbs of torque.

Understand that there are external conditions that might/will affect your times. Other than that, shift really quick, but smooth, ya'mea?

ROFLMAO

BTW, you shouldnt be running a 15.1 if you trap at 87MPH unless you ran 14 something and hit the brakes before the finish, or used slicks. You either read the slkip wrong, or the equipment at the track is faulty. your new times sound more in line with where you should be.

Also, that intake manifold isnt helping you. you will actually lose power till 8K RPM, so in reality you wont get any gains off of it till you have an engine that revs past and makes power to, higher then a stock B16A2/B18C1

you got to be kidding me right??? the Skunk2 IM doesnt make power until it gets past 8k... hahahahahahaha..... youre really funny dude.. if you dont know shit about the topic you shouldnt be posting dumb ass remarks like this... tell you what next time someone asks a question about anything about Hondas you shouldn't bother to answer them... cause oviously you dont know shit about this... I dont care if you have over a 1000 posts but you dont know shit... what kinda car do you drive??? probably a Mustang or some domestic car... let it go dude... you dont know shit so... let it go... later.. and for the guy with the Skunk2 IM... im sure the IM gave you some hp and tq... just get it dyno tuned...
and I dont get it... you tell this guy that his IM is not good until after 8k... but you yourself are planning on getting the same IM... wtf dude... I dont care if youre going to make your car rev to 10k... plus how much have you spent on your car to get the 170hp and 120tq... you never did answer that question when it was asked on your other thread... I think they were kinda bashing on you too... so... I dont think I'll get a respond to this either... either way good luck on your project... im sure it's already cost you an arm and a leg and youre still in the high 14's... Put the money that you have and put it to good use... like boost or even nitrous.... later Mike
