strastix is pretty dope. Lots of functionality, a little clunky. I know a lot of the features my Suunto "movescount" includes.
I might still pay for premium.

sidenote: on frankenwheelset [flo 30 rear, zipp 404 front], wearing shorts and a t-shirt, my TT bike is about 2.5 mph faster over the same flat-ish route/similar winds vs my roadbike w/extra crunchy tragically non-lubed drivetrain lol while also wearing shorts/t-shirt [15.5 net vs 18.1 net, including a bunch of stoplights, a few minutes spent between 1-5 mph negotiating pedestrians/intersections/etc, bulk of moving time spent like 15 mph upwind caad vs 18 mph upwind TT, and like 20 mph downwind [caad] vs 22 mph downwind [TT], on a moderate effort. interdasting. guessing fixing up the caad drivetrain finds a mph or 2. its pretty crunchy
I bought a new 105 derailleur for my caadx as well as a cassette and chain as it was just toast [only 6k miles, but I think the salt/spray/ocean effect of where I've been riding it has nuked it recently].

Most my shit is half hammered by 4k miles.
(to be fair I don't baby my shit).
I guess I assume drivetrain's wear out, and that's why to have multiple bikes.
Also, not sure the drivetrain is worth 2mph.

lol original from when I bought it from a dude on CL 3+ years ago, I know I've put 6500 miles or so on it haha, original owner probably less than 1k.
Ive cleaned/lubed completely including soaking it in ATF a couple times tho, just the saltwater spray seems to have completely nuked it these last few months

Um 2k is a lot for a chain 6k is tempting fate, especially given you used to be bigger (in cycling terms) and you're commuting(more starting/stopping and dirty routes)
Even with no "salt spray" or anything.

Of no coincidence* my jensonusa order has: 105 cassette (hill climbing gears because I just noticed all of my casettes--100%-- are 11/25 , + said derailleur (105 for $40 woot), and a bb30 bottom bracket. Found a Fsa compact crankset takeoff locally on CL for $75 w/50-34 that has new chain rings and is a takeoff from a caad like mine (same bb30) for less than what new chain rings alone would cost heh
Tried to find SRAM red stuff but nothing juicy on CL plus everyone just sells worn out drivetrain bits there anyways
So like $220 for new BB, crankset, chain rings, rear derailleur, chain, and cassette . Should last another 3 years. Also when I do wildflower next time I'll definitely run the 12/28 on the standard crankset (54/30) as I think I spent the entire 'race' in the left half of the casette
*possibly some coincidence

Oh that's what I broke originally, not sure how I fucked it up but I took it apart 3 or 4 times and reassembled it the spring just doesn't hold tension anymore

10 speed shit is so cheap these days, sort of awesome.
I might snag one of those derailers for next winter's tear down. (mine's been though a lot of mud and dropped a bit(yes teh hanger is fine).

Basicaly I've done like one ride over 20 miles all year. Had to pull the rack off on the way in... This "gun be good'

you're fitter than you've been in a long while. calm down
run fit corresponds highly to bike fit [not so much the other way around tho]

I was decently fit last year too though. Just couldn't run long runs because foot. remember I did that half in November with 1 training/week.
i think the hardest part of crosstraining is knowing appropriate pacing.
Also, a bit worried bike might break. Also riding in mtn bike cleats.

Agreed lol he's doing a 24hr race solo, ss, as we speak. He's a consistent around top 5 finisher at the NUE series in SS. He beat my time at Shenandoah 100 by 5min. He's strong
