ugh i hate those straps around your chest. the less clothes the better.

the model taking the pictures and in the white has some nice boons

as far as losing my sensor. i had it in a pocket thingy that went on top of my shoes. yesterday i left out for work and had it attached to my keychain and about an hour before i left work, i noticed that it was gone.

yeah that sucks!

in related news I never wear the HR monitor, but it's nice to know it's there in case I ever do get silly crazy about zone workouts.

In other related news, my first three miles are done on the new shoes and I am happy to report that the run went great! I ended up running negative for each split - 8:27, 8:23, 7:49 - 25:27 for 3.12 miles

not too bad for a chubby dude! I gotta get back to eating good though, I have been slacking hardcore in that department.

I really like the Green Silence, and liked them even more when I saw ghem at the marathon expo last weekend. Too bad I have 3 pairs of running shoes already, and the wife would kill me if I got any more.

I am loving my most recent piece of gear though:

Oakley Jawbones with polarized lenses:

They're really comfortable and the optics are amazing.

Ran 7 miles. So-so time at 63 minutes, but wasn't trying too hard and haven't been running too much the last couple of weeks.

Cyclocross race tonight. In a Freddy Kreuger costume. Hopefully the temps will get down at least into the 60's since I'll be wearing a fucking sweater to race in. This will be epic.

did 8 this morning, ran from the house to breakfast with the family. was an awesome day for a run - 50 degrees, sunny, ever so slight breeze.

finished in 1:10:58, so around an 8:51/m average. Slower than I wanted, but whateves. It was still a nice run.

whoohoo!! new 5k PR tonight!

I broke 25 min. First time ever!!! My last best 5k was 25:04 on Sept. 30th, tonight I did it in 24:45!! Splits were 8:13, 8:07, 7:49.

Wore the Brooks Green Silence again, so maybe it is the shoes afterall!? Whatever it is, I'll take it. I even tripped once during the run and recovered. Quite eventful. Oh, and it was pretty cold and windy out - 39 degrees to be exact! Love that cold weather running...

will do - I like 'em cuz they are cuffless so I don't have to worry about them bunching up against my watch. Wish I had them for tonight's run. It's gonna be fucking chilly again.

Went out with a coworker and ran 3.3 miles on lunch.

34:41, 3.34mi, (all my official 5ks have been 35.xx or higher)...and my first sub 10:00 split! 9:56, which is still slow but fuck, it's sub 10, and thats progress! 10:49 and 10:23 for the next 2 miles.

of course, we have a shower at work that no one ever uses. better than paying $50 a month for a gym membership!

I sweat too much to not shower after a run.

Switched it up and drove down to Huntington Beach to do my run this morning. So many hot women out on the bike path, my run went by really fast. Oh, and they're all friendly when you're pushing a stroller. \:D

Only did 3.5, but I did it in 27:30 which is a fairly brisk pace for me.

no incline. i just hope on and run. it sucks though because outside yields a much better run due to several factors

inside the house or in a gym on a treadmill, you are subject to alot of factors. outside you can vary your pace on a long run; for instance on a 5mile run, i can average a pace out to 7min50secs a mile. on the treadmill, pumping out an 8.20 pace for damn near 4 or 5miles is brutal. then you have to factor in a whole bunch of other shit(being stationary, inside distractions such as people trying to talk to you/phone ringing/ppl cooking/your body heat from running not going anywhere).

I'm thinking of investing in a good treadmill for home. I too hate running on treadmills, but some days (like today, when they're calling for 40degrees and heavy rain) it would be nice to have something indoors that I can use to get my run in.

Any suggestions on good brands?

8 mile run today at an 8:55/mile pace

4 weeks away from my second half marathon, so I need to spend some time getting acclimated to lower temps and figuring out what works for me as far as clothes and layers.

Sweet. First time doing more than 4.5 miles since back at the end of september. Did 6.9 miles in 58:26. That's an 8:28 pace which is pretty damn quick for me. The funny thing is that I never really felt tired at all during the whole run. :woot:
