3.2 miles, but weather wasn't really a factor.

Rob, Flaco, DWalk, Serendipitous, Agent O, Micah, anyone been running? Its QUIET in here.
-Matt
My shin splint is ALMOST gone, but I can still feel the pain a bit when I run. So I've been doing my cardio in form of the stairmaster at my gym. Cant wait till the shin splint leaves entirely, so I can hit that pavement again.

Yes! I do 3.2miles/5K every other day and always take a day off on Sunday (football, of course). On Silock and others' recommendations I have started mixing some interval training which has been great at kicking my ass, but not so great on my shins. I can still keep up my regimen, but icepacks are necessary after every run.
I didn't see your previous post about my time. I just started getting under 29 minutes, which is down from 32 or so when I started. I have no idea where I should be at with that.
Keep piling up those miles!

Also, glad to hear you're able to run Rob!
-Matt
Thanks focker. Soon I'll begin using a stopwatch to see how my times compare to yours. All this time I've been just jogging at my own pace and just been focusing on increasing my distance. I was up jogging around 6 miles (4x a week) a few weeks ago before the shin splint. Now I'm working myself back up to there. I felt like I could do more after the 3.2 miler today but didn't want to push it since it was my first run since the shin splint.

First half-marathon yesterday. I kind of owned myself by being cocky - I haven't trained in a while, and plus I just rolled up in there and drank a red bull and thought that would get me through 13 miles. Nope. So my pace crashed a little bit after about 7 - I got real lightheaded, and then my legs got kind of rubbery. Gatorade fixed both problems by the time I was smart enough to have some but due to the spacing of the stops, that wasn't until mile 12. Finishing time 1:43:29 against a (stretch) goal of 1:40:00 so I felt fine about that.

I won't be doing that again real soon. A 5k hurts a LOT more than that, but at least it's over 20-30 minutes after it starts.
