On my 99 Civic EX I notice that whenever i have about 30% or less tank of gas, my car would take a little longer to start. Is this normal? It only happens when I'm low on gas and usually on cold weather outside. Should I get my spark plugs checked? I'll appreciate any input.

i had the same problem when i had my Si. i took it to the dealers and they fixed it.

there's another way to "fix" it. turn the key to the accessory power thing (but dont start it). give it a second then start it from there.

personally, i prefer the taking it to the dealer route.

if you have a alarm that disables the fuel pump the lines will drain and it takes a extra min to refil and start the car, if you turn to the "run" spot onthe car, then off then on a few times before you start it it works fine

I don't notice it until I get down to 2 gallons or so....

I figured it was normal.

Yea, this happens with Hondas a lot... Just let the fuel pump prime the lines before starting and/or even do it more than once before starting. This always helped me and now that my car is somewhat "built" its even harder to start so sometimes I even have to have the ignition cut and crank it over a few times before starting so that it gets some extra juice in the cyl's to help it fire up.

Its normal, usually when i am have like 1 or 2 gallons left its hard to start and takes a while. I have seen that happen with all Honda's/ Acura's.

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes even when I have a full tank.

My old instincts from driving a carburated truck kick in and I floor the gas, resulting in waking up everyone in the neighborhood when it finally fires up.

Happened on every honda I owned (00 ex and 81, 94 and 95 accords). Usually happens once the needle is in the last quarter of the tank, but the delay is usually under 1 second so I never thought of it as a problem.
