and I kept hitting 15.6 times. I need some tips on my launch and what I should be launching at with my setup. I went anywhere from launching at 2.8 to 5k....3800 seems best or should i change?

Current setup
b18c1
b16 tranny
RS*R exhaust (dented so it hits probably 2" or 1.5" at one point in the flow)

tips greatly appreciated...

That sounds about right for a near stock B-series in an Si. Try letting some air out in the front tires to see if that helps your launch?

Please; you haven't started to let the air out yet. Try 25psi in the front and max the rear. But really still, your time doesn't sound as if you did really bad. Sounds about right.

If you have drag radials, you can launch between 5k and 6k so you'll be near or in VTEC asap. Street tires, 3500-4500 is ok, don't drop clutch. But your mods won't get you any real lower times unless the temp gets colder, so your time seems ok. At least you running consistently too; although that can mean you don't make any changes to your car between runs.

That means your ECU isn't stock then, correct? You should shift right before rev limiter. And that 180@7600rpm isn't to the wheels.

a stock B16 ECU limits at 8200rpm. If your motor stops making power at 7800rpm, I think you shold shift about 8200rpm then. Can you feel the power falling off after 8200?

Launch at 7k and feather the clutch till you catch.

shift at about 8200-8400

This thread keeps confusing me with each new post you put up. You are saying you launched a B18C @3200rpm and did a final of 15.2s?? I can't fathom it; launching that low with these torqueless motors. . . Whats your 60' and at what mph?

ur mph is as expected for ur mods, maybe even on the high side. just bring the 60' down to at least 2.2x on decient tires. try launching higher & work different techniques to figure what works best & u could be in high 14's.
